An initiative for professional theatre with young people
The Young Theatre Graubünden was founded in October 2011 on the initiative of Roman Weishaupt, together with Chris Hunter and Corsin Zarn. As co-founder and Artistic Director, Roman Weishaupt shaped the development and artistic direction of the non-profit organisation based in Chur.
The institution develops and produces professional theatre with young people throughout the canton of Graubünden. Its theatre projects, workshops and holiday courses consciously incorporate the linguistic diversity and geographical characteristics of the canton’s different regions.
After Roman Weishaupt was elected Director of Theater Chur, the team led by Corina Liechti and Brigitte Balzer took over the leadership of the Young Theatre Graubünden. They continue to run the institution successfully, which has become an indispensable part of Graubünden’s theatre landscape.
